About Prophecy

"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets."

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Rom 1:12)

About Prophecy

Dedicated to Understanding Bible Prophecy

About Prophecy is about explicating biblical prophecy, especially prophecies dated to the time of the end. In articles and essays, About Prophecy uses the inspired Word of God to reveal the mysteries of God that were shrouded in sealed endtime biblical prophecies. But those seals, as if rain-soaked cloaks, have been removed from the prophecies of Daniel, thereby allowing more of the scroll of Revelation to be read. Written within and without, this scroll reveals where it is written without (or on its outside) -- that the holy nation of Israel will become all of humanity before the harvest of the earth (Rev 14:15) is reaped. Israel is the single great nation promised to Abraham (Gen 12:2); Israel becomes that nation of every human being alive when the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all of humanity (Joel 2:28), when Satan is cast from heaven (Rev 12:9), when the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of the Most High God and of His Christ (Rev 11:15). Israel is the woman of Revelation chapter 12: Israel gave birth to the man-child (Christ Jesus) who will rule the world and who has been caught up to heaven (Rev 12:5). Israel is also the woman whose offspring keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus (Rev 12:17).

About Prophecy presents prophetic understandings that stand on the shoulders of typological exegesis to peer into the heavenly realm. Joshua sent two spies across the River Jordan to view the promised land, especially the city of Jericho Those two spies were a visible, physical shadow of the two witnesses whose 1260 day ministry precedes all of humanity becoming the holy nation of Israel. Jericho was a type of spiritual Babylon, the great city, drunk on the blood of martyrs, that rides the red breast. The articles and essays that About Prophecy lists on the linked web pages oppose historic understandings of Daniel and Revelation. Again, Daniel's long vision (chapter 11) was "sealed and secret" until the time of the end (Dan 12:4. 9). Daniel's prophecies could not be understood in the 1st-Century or in the 20th-Century. Only since humankind has entered the 21st-Century has Daniel's long vision become understandable by its unsealing through typology.

The key to understanding Bible prophecy is that in all things, the physical precedes the spiritual (1 Cor 15:46), and the visible reveals the invisible (Rom 1:20). The key to understanding prophecy isn't having studied fourteen or more books about prophecy. It isn't identifying the United States and Britain as the endtime descendants of the ancient house of Israel. It isn't having visited Jerusalem or the modern nation of Israel or having an Islamic friend or being recognized as a prophecy expert. It is understanding that Christ Jesus has revealed to His friends the mysteries of God, that the man Jesus of Nazareth came as the second Adam, that the first Adam was the visible, physical shadow of the invisible, spiritual last Adam, a life-giving spirit (1 Cor 15:45). Understanding biblical prophecy requires the disciple to realize that circumcised Israel formed the visible, physical shadow of spiritual Israel; that the physical Babylon-Persian-Greek succession of kingdoms formed the visible shadow of the spiritual succession of kingdoms in the heavenly realm. Jesus linked the endtime abomination that desolates (Matt 24:15) to Daniel's sealed abomination of desolation (Dan 11:31). The appearance of the abomination that desolates is precisely dated to 1290 days (Dan 12:11) before Christ's return as the Messiah. And the sealed and secret words inscribed in the book of truth (Dan 10:21) that were given to Daniel reveal the remainder of the visible, physical shadow of kingdoms that completes the secession of Nebuchadnezzar's image.

Satan reigns as the spiritual king of Babylon (Isa 14:4-21) into whose hand the children of men were given wherever they lived (Dan 2:37). Nebuchadnezzar never reigned over the children of men in China or Chili, but Satan as the prince of the power (Eph 2:2) of the air does. So the shadow of Satan's spiritual reign over the children of men runs from Nebuchadnezzar through Antiochus Epiphanes. Satan's spiritual reign in the heavenly realm runs until the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of the Most High and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15 -- the Scriptural parallel is Daniel 7:9-14 & 2:34-35, 44-45).

Neither Rome, nor the Roman Empire, nor the Holy Roman Empire, nor the Roman Church, nor the Roman See is mentioned in biblical prophecy. Rome and its history don't constitute any part of the visible, physical shadow of the spiritual kingdom of Babylon that reigns over the mental topography of humanity. The shadow ends with the breaking of Antiochus Epiphanes' rule of Jerusalem. Christ breaks the spiritual reign of the man of perdition differently than the Maccabees broke the physical reign of the king of the North; thus, the books of the Maccabees are not part of canonical Scripture.

Presently, the spiritual king [sar] of Greece fights with the spiritual king [sar] of Persia (Dan 8:3-8, 20-21) for control of the mental landscapes of humanity. He will win. And since the United States presently fronts for him, "American" ideals of democracy and individual rights will prevail worldwide. But shortly after this spiritual king of Greece (Dan 10:20) wins, he will be broken, just as his visible, physical shadow -- Alexander the Great -- was broken. When he is broken, four spiritual beings emerge. They are the four beasts of Daniel 7. One will become the false prophet. One will be the king of the bottomless pit. And the remaining two, the kings of the North and South will fight, using human ten nation or denomination coalitions, for control of spiritual Israel, newly liberated from bondage to sin at a second Passover. Their fighting will be so deadly that if these days were not shortened no human would be saved alive (Matt 24:22). No one would be left to become that single nation Israel.

The above end-of-the-age scenario will not occur until the good news that "all who endure to the end will be saved" (Matt 24:13) is proclaimed throughout the world as a witness to all nations (v. 14). This gospel of endurance unto salvation is now being proclaimed by About Prophecy. The extent to which it must be proclaimed will be determined by God the Father.

About Prophecy is indeed all about biblical prophecy. In delivering understanding of prophetic events, About Prophecy has no peer. And standing on the shoulders of typological exegesis to see into the spiritual realm, About Prophecy has been sent by the spiritual Joshua (Christ Jesus) to view the promised land, especially Jericho (Jos 2:1), the shadow of spiritual Babylon. It is part of the shadow cast by the two witnesses. And what About Prophecy sees in its articles and essays is a Babylon ready to fall, thereby liberating all of humanity from bondage to sin.

Uncircumcised Israelites (Jos 5:2-7) under the second covenant of Moses (Deu 29:1) crossed the Jordan as the visible, physical shadow of the endtime Church. The holy physical nation of Israel's fight to occupy the promised land forms the shadow of the Church living by faith during the Tribulation, especially the last 1260 days. Spiritual Israel led by Christ Jesus will prevail. But just as physical Israelites had to swing swords after the walls of Jericho fell, spiritual Israelites will have to exercise faith while enduring to the end. And the teachers of spiritual Israel who proclaim that the Church will be raptured prior to the Tribulation are the spiritual reality of the false prophets of Israel who proclaimed peace when there would be no peace (Jer 8:11 & 6:14). The Church as the second Eve will not escape the birth pains (Gen 3:16) of bringing many heirs of God to glory. Jesus in His Olivet discourse described these hard labor pains (Matt 24:9-28). So enduring will become a real work of faith, as mentally demanding as swinging swords was physically demanding.
